Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur, Mexico is not only known for its marine life and the many opportunities for fishing and water sports, but it’s also home to several festivals and events all year round.

If you’re into Jazz, Cabo’s Jazz Festival held every July will make your stay unforgettable. This event allows you to enjoy many different jazz talents from Cabo and from around the world. The Festival lasts for 3 days as you sit back and relax to the soothing music.

If water sports are your thing, you’ll appreciate the Baja Bisbee’s Fishing Tournament held every October. The tournament pits the best fishermen against the best contenders in the seas of Cabo. Participants get a chance to capture several deep sea fish such as the Tuna, the Dorado or the ferocious Blue Marlin. The best thing about the tournament is that once the fish are caught, they are tagged and returned to the sea, except for the Dorado and the Tuna, which are brought back to be eaten.

The Gray Whale Festival in February gathers up hundreds of visitors and locals to partake in a traditional celebration that marks the arrival of the whales. The festival is fiercely celebrated with entertaining games, merrymaking and plenty of eating. All the hotels Cabo is better known for are overflowing with celebrants; Cabo’s marina slips are all filled in with yachts, speedboats and sailboats; and the Cabo sea is teeming with Gray whales.
